A group of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) members in Kakamega County has urged their party's leader, President William Ruto, to reconcile with former Vice Chairperson Seth Panyako.
According to the members, Panyako resigned from the party leadership in May and was the driving force behind UDA's popularity in Kakamega County.
"We're at UDA because Panyako brought us together." We are dissatisfied with this disagreement, Mr President; please speak with Panyako; we need you in the next election," Ann added.

Another member, Arnold Shisanya, warned that UDA's reputation in Kakamega may suffer if the President does not reconcile with the vociferous secretary general of the Kenya Union of Nurses.
"He used to give us pamphlets to promote the party." However, discrepancies appeared when he spoke about the Finance Bill. UDA will die in Kakamega without Panyako; he should not be used and dumped. Numerous leaders in Kakamega have served in both the UDA and Azimio, but Panyako has always been faithful, so let him keep his post," Arnold Shisanya remarked.
Other UDA members urged UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala to intervene between the two parties.
"As Secretary General, speak with Panyako." "It is not good for him to leave the party despite the fact that he has a large following," Collins Adolo stated.
Panyako blamed his disagreement with UDA party head Ruto on his position on the Finance Bill 2023.
"He (Ruto) told me that other people, such as Malala, were pressuring him to kick me out of UDA for opposing government policies." "I asked him what his plan was, and he told me that things couldn't go on like this...that I needed to leave UDA," Panyako stated after resigning.
