Ezekiel Mutua, the Chief Executive Officer of the Music Copyright Council of Kenya, has harshly attacked the song "Kaskie Vibaya Huko Kwenu" by Gengetone Ssaru. Speaking on television and in online news outlets, Ezekiel Mutua claimed that the song's morally damaging message is not one that the younger generation can understand.

"You heard the song of the girl singing to her ex-fiancé that she is now in a relationship with her father, 'I have money and I like your father, go and listen badly'. To tell the truth, what are you saying to my daughter"

Ezekiel stated that he would like musicians to emphasize and create music that inspires listeners to act in a morally righteous manner.

"It is important for artists to understand that they can use music to promote values in our communities, we can use music to bring peace and harmony between people in the world."

Ezekiel continued in criticizing gospel musicians because, in his opinion, they don't do enough to amuse their supporters and listeners.

Ezekiel claimed on Thursday that his efforts to resurrect Kenya's music business have caused him considerable suffering due to the gospel musicians.

"Since I joined MCK a year ago, the people who have given me the most pain in my efforts to revive the music industry in the country are gospel artists."

Ezekiel acknowledged that in his first year as MCK's CEO, he had been able to corroborate the earlier charges made by comedian Erick Omondi.

I believe Erick Omondi was correct when he remarked that there is a problem with gospel musicians.

He claims that although there are numerous performers in this field, there aren't many true gospel musicians.
