Nairobi The demonstrators who were captured damaging camera property in Nairobi, according to Governor Johnson Sakaja, will be detained and charged.

As he described the damage done to the county due to the anti-government protests, the governor condemned Monday's demonstration while announcing that those caught on camera stoning buildings and tearing down infrastructure would face charges.

Sakaja declared at City Hall during the second Rapid Results Initiative wave, "We need to have a discourse about the protests, and also, those who were caught on Video uprooting infrastructure will be penalized.

The municipal manager claimed on Tuesday that Nairobi County suffered the most, with most companies closed.

Because of the protests in Azimio, we could only collect Sh30.3 million in daily revenue, which the government claimed would be impossible to sustain weekly.

He continued by saying that daily income collections fell precipitously after the protests, which significantly impacted Nairobi's Central Business District.

Governor Sakaja said, "I'll still plead that we need a solution. "A resolution is required for the protests seen yesterday in Nairobi and other cities."

Sh121.2 million will be lost in a month if the protests go on.

Sakaja's appeal comes as Raila Odinga, the head of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition, stated on Monday that there would be weekly demonstrations against President William Ruto's administration.



Raila claims that the Azimio will exert on the government to lower living expenses and halt the ongoing appointment of commissioners to the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC).

Rigathi Gachagua, the vice president, called on the Azimio leaders to end the protest while he was in Mombasa on Monday and said that the protest cost the nation Sh2 billion.

Following the demonstrators' run-in with the police, most commercial activity in Nairobi's central business district was suspended.



The protests also took place in Kisumu and Migori counties, among others. Sunday, Kenya Airlines closed its Kisumu booking offices out of concern for the protest's effects. Most companies in the capital restarted on Tuesday, and the usual heavy traffic was present.
