- Nairobi After President William Ruto signed the Finance Bill 2023, the opposition in Kenya reportedly considered overthrowing him.

Raila Odinga, a stalwart member of the opposition, declared that he would mobilize Kenyans to gather signatures to remove the president and his cronies from office.

The campaign got underway today when the Raila-led faction met for the second time in response to the president's signing of the finance measure into law.

The government will face civil disobedience from the people. In Nairobi, Kenya, at a consultative meeting, Raila declared, "We the people shall launch a mass signature collection to attempt to remove from power leaders, including William Ruto and all leaders who backed the financial bill.

Before the Saba Saba Day demonstrations, Raila departed the Jaramogi Odinga Foundation on Upper Hill at around noon.

The governor of Murang'a, Mwangi wa Iria, Opiyo Wandayi and the former Mungiki leader, Maina Njenga, accompanied him.
