Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, has criticized the opposition's weekly protests, saying there's no time for retrogressive politics.
Mudavadi stated that the opposition, led by Raila Odinga, should realize that the electioneering phase is over, and it is now time to get to business.
While addressing a group in Kakamega's Iguyio village Ikolomani constituency, he warned the protesters that the government will not sit back and watch as they participate in actions that will harm the country's normalcy.
He deemed it necessary for the Azimio leadership to comprehend and accept the truth that retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta delegated power to President Ruto.

Mudavadi's remarks come a day after Azimio's Saba Saba proclamation. The Prime Cabinet Secretary also challenged Azimio to explain to Kenyans what parameters they are basing their protests on, claiming Azimio is interested in spreading mayhem and disrupting the Kenya Kwanza's strategy to restore the country's economy.
Mudavadi had attended the burial of his Personal Aide Alfred Diru's son, Ian Ayodi Diru. He also extended an olive branch to all Western Kenyan politicians, regardless of political affiliation, to join forces for the development and betterment of the region.
He urged them to band together, share a similar objective and aim of unifying the people of the Western area, and work toward economic and political empowerment.
Mudavadi also asked Kenyans to comprehend why the government is emphasizing tax collection.
He emphasized the need for Kenyans to support the Finance Law, which has aroused diverse emotions, claiming it is for the country's welfare. He stated that the government cannot borrow to pay salaries.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary promised Kenyans that there is hope and that their fortunes will soon improve and their lives will improve.
