Kathiani MP Robert Mbui stated that the move by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance to gather over 10 million signatures is intended to delegitimize the Kenya Kwanza government rather than impeach the President.
Despite his efforts to define delegitimization, Mbui stated that Azimio does not recognize the current administration and intends to abolish its sovereign power.
During a citizen tv show, he said they do not want to impeach the President. The process of impeachment is outlined in the Constitution. They don't want to impeach Kenya Kwanza but rather delegitimize them. They want everyone to know that these people steer the country in the wrong direction.
He said they want everyone in the world to know that kenyans are not happy that these people are leading the country down the wrong path.

The Deputy Minority Whip also poured cold water on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's characterization of the collection procedure as futile.
Mbui questioned why Kenya Kwanza leaders would address the issue in public rallies if it did not ruffle their feathers, stating that their initiative must be considered.
During the Saba Saba protests, Azimio leader Raila Odinga announced the move to gather signatures, noting that it would signal the withdrawal of their sovereignty from the current government and would be part of an initiative to remove President William Ruto and his deputy Gachagua from office.
South Pokot MP David Pkosing has stated that he will lead the collection of signatures for civil disobedience in an attempt to oust President William Ruto.
The legislator, elected on the Kenya Union Party [KUP] platform and a member of Azimio's bipartisan committee panel, indicated that he is working on grassroots mobilization, network development, and preparations for the signature drive and mega demos.
A previous ally of President Ruto told the press in Kapenguria that Kenyans are unsatisfied and disappointed with the Kenya Kwanza government's promises.
