President William Ruto has vowed to stop Raila Odinga from using Kenyan blood to advance his political ambitions. On Friday in Naivasha, Ruto pledged to stop the opposition leader by whatever means necessary.

"Raila Odinga, I won't permit you to pursue power by using Kenyans' blood as a pawn. I'll stop you, he declared. President Ruto responded to Azimio's declaration that their protests would now last three days straight starting the following week.

The state president criticized Raila for using illegal methods to gain access to power and vowed that this would not occur. Ruto has previously reaffirmed that he and Raila will never shake hands.

"You cannot gain power through extra-constitutional means. He continued that it won't happen if you use violence to enter politics.

There won't be any demonstrations on Wednesday. It is impossible because this man (Raila Odinga) has brought instability and countless fatalities to this nation. He continued to interfere with Mwai Kibaki's and Uhuru Kenyatta's administrations, and recently he organized protests in which property was destroyed, according to Ruto.

"I want to reassure you that I will follow you down that path and I won't let it happen," he said. At least 17 people have died nationwide due to the Azimio protests on Wednesday. However, more people are thought to be involved.

The Raila-led group announced on Friday that the protests would last three days the following week. According to Azimio, the peaceful demonstrations will take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in response to calls from all groups.

On Thursday, Raila declared that the demonstrations would place whether or not the government granted a licence. Regardless of how the administration feels, nationwide protests will occur on Wednesday next week, stated Raila.
