The National Police Service has responded to a TikTok video purportedly showing one of its officers making reckless remarks amid ongoing opposition-led anti-government protests.
In the video, the cop had gone live on the social networking app and was reading some of the comments from his followers, the majority of which he said read, "Ruto must go."
Ruto has sent the police on the streets to kill protesters, only for them to open Tiktok to celebrate his downfall. Tears in my eyes. pic.twitter.com/y5oojhixgR

The National Police Service (NPS) said in a statement released on Wednesday that the officer's dress in the video was inappropriate, and his words were reckless and did not reflect the ideals of the police service.
As a result, the State agency called out the officer, stating that he would face disciplinary punishment following an internal panel's rigorous evaluation of his words.
Part of the statement reads The National Police Service's attention has been drawn to a video clip on social media, depicting an improperly dressed 'Police Officer' making misleading and reckless remarks.
It adds that As a Disciplined Service, we wish to clarify and reassure the public that the behaviour depicted in the video is unacceptable and does not reflect NPS values.
"The remarks are therefore regrettable and are condemned in the strongest terms possible," NPS continued, "even as we embark on an internal review with the goal of preferring appropriate disciplinary action."
