Despite skipping Wednesday's Maandamano, Winnie Odinga has reassured Kenyans that her father and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga is fine. Following inquiries regarding Odinga's whereabouts from Kenyans, Winnie relayed the update.

“Sasa…Hii story ya Baba imetoka wapi? Baba ako sawa. Tena aliniboo na story ya gym 30mins ago,” Winnie Odinga tweeted.

Additionally, she tweeted "Tulia" in response to a Twitter user asking where her father was. Sawa, my father. "Stop heating things up."

Online rumours of Raila's hospitalization began to spread on Wednesday, but no official statement from his office. Whether he'll show up today to lead the demonstrations is still determined.

“This illegitimate regime is targeting innocent children; using live bullets. Totally unwarranted, unjustifiable, and uncalled for. This happened in Mashimoni-Kibra today,” Odinga tweeted.

According to ODM director of communications Philip Etale, Odinga's bodyguard and spokesperson Dennis Onyango was also detained by the police at the time.

Following the protests on Thursday, the Coalition announced three new gathering places in Nairobi. Protesters will gather in Nairobi's Central Business District at Huruma Grounds, Kangemi Grounds, and Central Park, according to Narc leader Martha Karua.



She advised Kenyans to hold peaceful protests in their local areas. She stated that crowds will gather in Nairobi's Central Park, Huruma Grounds, and Kangemi Grounds.
