Azimio La Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga has urged Kenya Kwanza leaders to refrain from using hate ahead of bipartisan meeting.

Odinga told journalists in Nairobi on Tuesday that the negotiations, slated to begin on Wednesday, will be transparent and governed by etiquette, honesty, and respect for the Kenyan people.

He said that azimio believes the country deserves peace, not paralysis, so they have scaled back their protests to allow for dialogue and peace.

He added that they want to tell Kenya Kwanza that the abuse has to stop because it isn't working.

"Participating in open dialogue does not imply surrender or cowardice." We remain committed to engaging in good faith negotiations on a strategy to reach a comprehensive solution to the country's problems through dialogue."

Azimio and President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance have formed a 10-member discussion group.

Azimio wants a lower cost of living, an audit of the 2022 General Election servers, bipartisan rebuilding of the IEBC, its inclusion in national issues, and respect for political parties.

The azimio leader emphasized that he is not seeking a ceasefire with Ruto akin to the March 2018 'Handshake' with Kenyatta via bipartisan negotiations.

He insisted that the talks are for Kenyans' benefit, calling President Ruto's government 'too filthy' to enter into a truce or coalition government arrangement.

The Azimio dialogue team will be led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who will be joined by his DAP-Kenya colleague Eugene Wamalwa, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogeni, and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wa will lead Kenya Kwanza and will include Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, EALA MP Hassan Omar, and Bungoma Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga.

If the scheduled bipartisan discussions fail, the former prime minister has threatened to resurrect mass protests. Over 20 individuals were killed in the most recent round of protests.
