No effort will be spared in pursuing justice; President William Ruto has warned individuals who stole millions of shillings intended to fund scholarships for students from Uasin Gishu County.

Jackson Mandago, a former governor now a senator, has been charged with mismanaging more than Ksh1 billion collected from parents to pay for their kids' education in Finland and Canada.

In his remarks at a rally on Wednesday, August 16, Ruto reassured the attendees—and parents in particular—that anti-corruption organizations would reclaim the money they had donated to the county.

The Head of State remarked that the county officials' conduct was despicable and harmful to society because the suspect had ruined the lives of children.

A court has already mandated the arrest of Mandago and three other former top officials.

To get their money back from the county government, the parents petitioned the Senate and President Ruto.

President Ruto responded that he would see to it that the proper investigations were done and those responsible were imprisoned for their crimes.

"I will not allow anyone to steal from our children. The money will be returned to the parents," Ruto assured the parents, who were cheering him up.

In Uasin Gishu County, where many parents are trying to make ends meet, he also acknowledged that the affair had sparked outrage.

In their replies to Ruto, the parents expressed their hope that the Head of State would assist them in getting their money back and put the culprits in jail.

"We are grateful to the President for his concern. "We hope that he will help us get our money back," a parent responded to President Ruto.
