Six guests who were expected to attend a wedding in the Kihunguro district of the Ruiru Sub-County have at least six dead when the concrete slab over a well they were dancing on collapsed.
The group of individuals had stopped by a friend's house on Saturday to celebrate when the slab collapsed, killing roughly 11 of them, according to a Kiambu Police Spokesperson.
According to the authorities, the weight of the people standing on top of the well must have caused it to collapse.
The Ruiru fire brigade and police officers from Kihunguro police station then launched a rescue operation, and 11 persons, including two children, were rescued.

Police have, however, confirmed that one of the kids, a girl, is deceased.
The people that were saved were then brought to Ruiru Hospital.
