Following concerns that the numerous police roadblocks were causing problems for transporters and business people ferrying goods, the CS was invited to speak to the National Assembly's EAC block and Integration committee about the government's support for the free movement of goods, services, and people within the region.

According to CS Kindiki, who spoke about the different projects performed by the partner states, the dismissal is following an order from President Ruto.

According to the CS, the new technology would see the deployment of an electronic surveillance system, reducing the necessity for traffic cops to man traffic congestion on the roadways.

"The surveillance will be primarily electronic, rather than a police officer unlocking your automobile. We will implement a program to ensure that technology is used to improve road safety and management," he added.
