The facility's doctors informed the family that their son had no realistic hope of recovery and that no medical measures would change the course of events.
Therefore, the doctors urged Caleb's family to "pull the plug," or, to put it simply, to stop providing life support.
However, the family didn't give up on hope till their child passed away on Friday.
The family had been visiting other hospitals in search of further surgeon opinions prior to receiving the heartbreaking news. The family was debating sending their son by plane to India just a week ago.
As they start to lay their only son to rest, the family, who is now left with a massive medical bill of more than Ksh 1.5 million, is requesting assistance from well-wishers to pay the debt.
The boy's family had previously accused the school administration of abandoning them following the incident.
However, the school's director denied the allegations, saying that the organization was ready to help the family in any manner.
