Kisumu is in difficulty. Senator Prof. Tom Ojienda has stated unequivocally that he will continue to work with the national government to bring development closer to the people.

The Senator, who was elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket but is now supporting Kenya Kwanza's administration, believes that only the government can raise people's living standards.

Ojienda made the remarks while opening an office in Kisumu County for the Achego sub-location assistant chief.

"There are visible signs of development." "That is why I always say I will stand with the government because the government is the only way to bring development to your people," Ojienda remarked.

He pointed to a road in the neighborhood that he claimed he helped create, claiming that he spoke with the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (Kerra) chairman, who approved the road's development.

Only a few individuals attended the Senator's ceremony in a mainly ODM-affiliated region.

Ojienda is one of four ODM leaders dismissed from the party for collaborating with the government.

Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Felix Odiwuor 'Jalang'o' (Lang'ata), and Caroli Omondi (Suba South) are the others.

Since then, Ojienda, Jalang'o, and Odhiambo have obtained orders prohibiting their expulsion.

ODM, led by Raila Odinga, accused members of betraying party loyalty by collaborating with political adversaries.
