According to CNN, a Black Texas high school student who was punished because his loc hairstyle violated the district's dress code was suspended again when he returned to school on Monday.

According to his family, Darryl George has been punished for over two weeks because his loc hairstyle violates the Barbers Hill Independent School District dress and grooming rule.

According to CNN, the policy specifies that "male students' hair will not extend below the brows or below the ear lobes at any time."

According to Allie Booker, an attorney for the family, school officials have requested George and his mother to meet to discuss the continuous disciplinary action for his hairstyle violations, according to CNN.

According to the lawyer, the family has been set a Wednesday deadline to meet with school officials.

"I expect them to try to get him kicked out of school," Booker told CNN. "But they won't do it with our permission."

According to Booker, the family was previously informed that the boy would be placed in a Disciplinary Alternative Education Program, better known as an alternative school if he did not cut his hair.

The Barbers Hill Independent School District's director of communications, David Bloom, told CNN that the district is "unable to provide any comment with respect to disciplinary matters involving a student."

Darresha George, a junior at Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, previously told CNN that George received many disciplinary action notes and was placed on in-school suspension for wearing his locs hairdo in a ponytail.

Darryl was suspended, she said, the same week the state's CROWN Act, which prohibits discrimination based on hair texture or protective hairstyles like locs and braids, went into effect.

According to his mother, the family is considering legal action.

She also claimed that school officials informed George that his loc hairstyle violated the district dress code, which states that "male students' hair must not extend below the top of a t-shirt collar or be gathered or worn in a style that would allow the hair to extend below the top of a t-shirt collar, below the eyebrows, or below the ear lobes when let down."

A school official initially chastised George for his locs and for wearing torn denim, both of which are prohibited.

His mother told CNN that the school told him he could change his clothes but had to cut his hair.

He was placed on in-school suspension after failing to cut his hair.
