Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was ridiculed by Cabinet Secretary for Public Services Moses Kuria on Friday. It is allegd that this two have been at conflict over their rivalry for leadership on Mount Kenya.
In a statement, Kuria responded to the Deputy President by poking fun at Gachagua and citing King Charles III's recent visit to the country as reason.
Kuria retaliated against the Deputy President in a statement, this time using King Charles III’s recent visit to the nation as justification for a jab at Gachagua.
“Sasa venye King amerudi kwao, fake Kingpins you can take over,” Kuria said.
CS Kuria has on numerous occasions blamed the Deputy President for his woes.

For instance, when he was reassigned to the Public Service Ministry from the lucrative Trade docket, CS Kuria released a cryptic statement implying that Gachagua played a role in his removal from the influential post.
Another incident that underscored the rift between the two was when CS Kuria dismissed Kenyans who were expressing concerns about the high fuel prices.
He advised those affected by the rising fuel costs to take matters into their own hands, suggesting they should consider digging their own wells instead of constantly complaining.
He further warned Kenyans that the prices of fuel would increase by Ksh10 every month until February 2024, in a bid to drive the point home that the prices were beyond the government’s control.
However, Gachagua who had just jetted back into the country at the time warned Kuria and Council of Economic Advisors Chairperson David Ndii over their remarks cautioning them against their condescending attitude and telling them not to speak arrogantly to Kenyans.
“The Government remains aware of and is sensitive to the challenges Kenyans are facing today; the arrogant statements by a few leaders do not, in any way, reflect the official government position or that of President William Ruto,” Gachagua stated.
In an effort to mend fences, Gachagua convened a private meeting with Kuria on September 26 at the DP's residence in Karen.
In a display of solidarity, Gachagua shared images of their meeting, though he did not reveal the details of their discussion.
He emphasized the government's commitment to ongoing dialogue with Kenyans to address their concerns.
