Nominated senator Hezena Lemaletian from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on November 17, disclosed that she was attacked by goons believed to be sent by the party's secretary-general and Nairobi County Senator Edwin Sifuna.
In a post on her social media page, Lemaletian disclosed that the assailants explicitly mentioned they were sent by Sifuna to physically harm and undress her. She emphasized that her departure from ODM is solely attributed to Sifuna, and she refuses to compromise her principles to appease him and remain in the party. Urging ODM to take appropriate action, she highlighted the party's commitment to democracy and gender equality. Lemaletian also asserted that if any harm befell her, Sifuna should be held accountable asserting that she will not be intimidated.

When questioned by her followers about the motive behind Sifuna's alleged attempt to harm her, Lemaletian explained that they have not been on good terms for some time.
