Information, Communications & the Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo has called upon the Luo community to work closely with the government to ensure a transformation of the local economy.
He stated that the government has earmarked several development projects in the region to be undertaken.
Speaking on Saturday during the burial of Monica Atieno, a sister to former Lake Basin Development Authority Chairman Odoyo Owidi, Owalo said the 2022 Election is now water under the bridge and.
Further, he urged political leaders to concentrate on the development of the citing that several Cabinet Secretaries will launch projects in the Nyanza region from next week.
He said the launch of the projects was a sign that President Ruto’s administration does not want to leave Nyanza behind in development.

According to the CS, some of the projects to be launched include road construction, rural electrification programmes, fishing, housing and mining among others.
“President Ruto has repeatedly said he will not discriminate against any community when undertaking development. It’s important for Nyanza people to cooperate with the government for efficient implementation of the projects,” he added.
Moreover, the CS urged the residents to focus on working with Dr Ruto because he is globally recognized as Kenya’s president warning them to be cautious of politicians who do not support the development because it is spearheaded by the Kenya Kwanza regime.
In his speech, the CS noted that President Ruto has opened his doors to work with all political leaders in the Nyanza region and it is important for them to take advantage of the opportunity to cooperate with the government.
“The government of President Ruto is ready to transform lives of Nyanza residents regardless of political affiliations,” Owalo said.
On his part, Nuclear Regulatory Authority chairman Omondi Anyanga said the 2022 general election was concluded and people should now focus on development.
He said Ruto had been declared the winner and his victory upheld by the Supreme Court and therefore there is no vacuum in the presidency.
Additionally, he told Nyanza residents to avoid leaders who discourage them from cooperating with the government.
