He is the funniest Member of parliament today. Peter Salasya will make you laugh even in serious and fierce situations like live demonstrations!

On Monday, March 20, 2023, during the Azimio protest, the internet was warmed by a viral video of Mumias East MP Peter Salasya's during the Azimio protest

The Member of Parliament was photographed by YouTuber Vincent Mboya while protesting against the high cost of living with other Kenyans in the streets of Nairobi.

Peter Salasya bemoaned the needless use of tear gas because the protests were supposed to be nonviolent.

Peter Salasya said he was teargassed, making him nearly faint. He sarcastically said they were standing like cows since the police had closed all the exits. "Shughuli nakunywa tu teargas bana," says Salasya.

Salasya and thousands of other Kenyans from all regions of the nation are out on the streets today.

The Maandamo day was termed a holiday by Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance as a protest against the current government.

The opposition wants to force the UDA government to keep its promises to Kenyan residents and strive for a lower cost of living. Mp Peter Salasya and his political supporters have promised to resist government intimidation.

With her election as the youngest MP alongside Linet, a popularly recognized Politician from Bomet, Salasya became a viral star. He has been outspoken, and his humour gives the best of him. It is alleged that Salyasya is performing well in his constituency and might get reelected back in 2027.

While preparing to join the leaders of Azimio la Umoja in their planned rallies in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), adjacent to the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, some young individuals were arrested (KICC).

The young men gathered in front of the KICC, where the march led by the Azimio la Umoja movement's leaders was scheduled to begin. When some of them allegedly attempted to enter KICC, arrests were made.
