Among the roles, Raila was set to play in President Ruto's government should the office be successfully created after the law amendment are:
Acting as a symbol of national unity. He will also be addressing the national assembly and senate.
He will ensure that human rights are protected. The office will keep the government in check by making suggestions and criticizing.
The office of the opposition leader will spearhead the citizen's grievances to the government and also examine government expenditures.
The office will also seek clarification always from the government on policy implementation should it be created.
