Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje has now admitted that his life is in danger. The politician has now asked Moses Wetangula, speaker of the National Assembly and Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome, to take action to protect him.

The claim comes just days after Mr. Eric Ojwang, the lawmaker’s bodyguard, allegedly shot and injured two people at the Embakasi West Constituency Development Funds (CDF) offices.
The shooting occurred amid rumors of a rift between Mr. Mwenje and his predecessor, George Theuri.
“All I would like to say for now is that my life is in danger and this is the second time such a thing is taking place here. Someone is sending armed youth to my functions,” Mr. Mwenje said.
The MP has already spoken out in a statement at the Buruburu Police Station, expressing his worries and requesting more security as well.
The bodyguard was charged on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at a Madaraka Law court, but police officers were permitted to detain him for an additional 14 days.

The judge set his release on a Sh100,000 cash bail. Former Embakasi West MP, George Theuri of Kamkunji Sub-County, made a police report at Buruburu Police Station describing a disturbance at the CDF headquarters in Umoja 1.
