Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday, 21 met members of the county assembly from Murang’a, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua and Nyeri counties.
This comes days after he met with elected leaders and the local administration from the Central Kenya region.
The over 150 ward representatives are currently converged at the DP’s residence in Iruri, Mathira East sub-county.
The main agenda will be to discuss the way forward on their contribution in the fight against alcoholism and drugs abuse in the region.

The deputy has already mooted the plan to draft a uniform legislation which will tackle issues of licensing and the sale of alcohol among a raft of other measures which will aid in reigning sanity in the industry.
The law, the DP says, will be passed by the five-county assemblies.
Mr Gachagua was accompanied by the National Assembly Majority leader, Kimani Ichungwa and county assembly speakers from each of the five counties.
