On December 30, Karen Nyamu was among the senators who gave their comments for the future after the impeachment of Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza was rejected.

Miss Nyamu said women will not be victimized and congratulated the committee led by Senator Boni Khalwale for a job well done.

The nominated senator advised the members of county assemblies to be keen before considering moving on with the serious matter like that of impeaching governors." To all county assemblies, we want to tell you to use impeachment very sparingly and when necessary. Not every field you have with the governor should end to the Senate for impeachment," said Karen.

"The matter of first gentlemen is going to be a normal occurrence in this country going forward because some of us have ambitions of becoming governors and so our spouses should not be victimized, " added Karen.

The nominated senator went ahead to point out that double standards have been experienced when it comes to this women's leadership in this country. She further clarified that she was a recent victim and urged women to stand firm in their spaces of leadership. "Women leadership is here to stay," concluded Karen.
