East Africa Portland Cement Company says Mavoko land in Machakos County was legally reclaimed through the court.
In a statement, East Africa Portland Cement Managing Director Oliver Kiribai says that the decision by the court to grant it ownership of a disputed parcel of land puts to an end the legal rows that have clouded its ownership for the past nine years.
”This landmark decision marks the culmination of a nine year legal battle initiated in 2029 when Amie Ma Lukenya Society fraudulently claimed ownership of the land,” read part of the statement.
“The society’s case crumbled due to their inability to produce the original title, contract documents or any evidence of payment to support their alleged transfer.”
Further, the company now says it has consistently cautioned the public against buying the disputed parcel of land from the very outset.

”Public notices clearly stated that the disputed parcel of land was not for sale,” the cement manufacturer said.
EAPC now says it appealed before the court ruling, calling on the illegal invaders to vacate the land to pave way for the demolitions.
The demolitions at Mavoko started on October 13, shortly after a protracted court ruling in favor of East Africa Portland Cement Company in a court battle that lasted close to ten year.
