Bidco Africa is looking for suppliers of 30,000 metric tons of soybeans and sunflower seeds as demand for the products rises.
The Thika-based company has said high demand for the products has decreased supplies, thus the need to increase production.
“Due to the growing popularity of our brands, we are looking for partners to supply us with 30,000 metric tons of sunflower seeds and Soybeans to support LOCAL production of home-grown heart friendly brands like SunGold Lite and Kimbo that have served East African homes to make delicious and tasty meals for decades,” Bidco says.
Currently, Bidco Africa is working with 25,000 farmers across East Africa, supplying the commodities mentioned above.
Soybeans and sunflowers are byproducts of fats and edible products that are used for cooking and baking, among others.
Further, the firm says it provides local farmers with a ready market and competitive market prices.
It also trains, equips and empowers smallholder farmers with Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) to improve their yields and ultimately assures them of maximum value that puts more money into their pockets.
