Ms. Beatrice Ng’ethe, a lawyer based in the city, was arrested by DCI detectives from the Nairobi Area in connection to the escape of fugitive Kevin Kang'ethe. She has been released after 72 hours of intense questioning. It's worth noting that the lawyer is a cousin to Kevin.

There is a growing search for the US fugitive who ran away from Nairobi's tightly guarded Muthaiga Police Station, but new information suggests that Kang'ethe may have had help from someone else to get out of detention.

A senior DCI investigator has said that a relative may have assisted Kang'ethe in escaping the police station, per a report published in Tuesday's Nation publication.

As per the statement, the two individuals were in each other's company on the day of the escape, suggesting that a plan may have been devised by Kang'ethe's relative.

" The two linked up moments after the suspects escape and since then, they've switched off their phones. It is believed that they are together ", the officer noted.

DCI detectives are actively tracing their phones in an attempt to apprehend the suspect, Kevin Kang'ethe. He is accused of murdering and discarding his girlfriend's body at an airport in the USA.
