Njoro Member of Parliament Charity Kathambi condemned Jeff's death. She went further to strongly condemn homosexuality in Kenya and thanked Kithure Kindiki for making Jeff's exhumation possible for further investigations.
On 31, March 2023, Jeff Mwathi's body was exhumed for a postmortem by investigators from the Director of Criminal Investigation at his home in Njoro.
The Njoro MP said that justice for Jeff must prevail especially due to the fact that he is from Njoro and that Jeff's case will act as an example in Kenya.

As detectives from the homicide squad have joined the team working on the exhumation for a second autopsy of the body, the inquiry into Jeff's murder has taken a new direction.
The postmortem was scheduled to take place at their home beneath a tent, and family members were expected to attend. The decision to exhume the remains was made after police chief Japhet Koome expressed concern about the peculiarities of the case.
In order to acquire more information and determine what happened, Mohamed Amin, the directorate's chief of criminal investigations, traveled to Roysambu, the place of Jeff's death.
In order to aid in their investigation into Jeff's mysterious death, the murder squad detectives are also eager to recreate the scene.
A Kikuyu blogger shared a photo of DJ Faxto's driver, claiming that he was the one who allegedly killed Jeff. The driver is said to have hit him with a blunt object before they threw him from the window.
"THE 'INNOCENT' FACE OF A HYPOCRITE. This is Jeff Maina, Fatxo's driver and serial offender. He's believed to be the one who killed Jeff by hitting him with a blunt, heavy object. Let's keep the fire burning until these suspects are arrested and prosecuted. No retreat," Martha posted.
The matter has not been confirmed or made public by the DCI who is in charge of the case. Jeff's case, according to many, has taken longer, and netizens have grown impatient.
Jeff's family insisted that he was killed inside Dj Fatxo's residence before being thrown from the top floor to make it appear as though he committed himself.
The authorities are examining the CCTV tape, and it appears that Fatxo entered the building where Jeff is located while accompanied by three other women. Later, at 4 a.m., they departed the flat. Before he fell from the higher story, Jeff was left there with two other men.
"Now around 4 a.m., Fatxo and three ladies left the house, and they left Jeff in the house with two other men. Nobody knows what happened in that house, the two men also left the house and went down to the parking lot and looked over. Fatxo's cousin was also seen making a call, and then Jeff fell from the 10th floor," Jeff's uncle narrated.
