Two fishermen in Nyagina Beach, homabay county, have died after fighting over a cigarette.
During a quarrel over a cigarette, one fisherman stabbed his colleague to death. After stabbing his colleague to death, the second fisherman was slain by a crowd.
Sikuku Odiko, a fisherman, stabbed his coworker Geoffrey Ngoje in the chest with a knife. This was after a violent argument about the cigarette.

The trouble began when Geoffrey purchased a cigarette for Ksh.15 from one of the beach kiosks and began smoking close to Sikuku.
Sikuku tried to borrow the cigarette, according to Rusinga East location Chief Mboya Owuor, but Geoffrey ignored him.
According to Owuor, the two exchanged angry words before the Sikuku pulled out a knife and stabbed Geoffrey in the chest, killing him instantly.
According to the administrator, members of the public who witnessed the incident attacked Sikuku with stones and other crude weapons, murdering him on the spot.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Homa Bay Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem
