In her statement on her X account, Karua expressed her concerns about the NADCO report, describing it as troubling, problematic, and unacceptable. She hinted at a more detailed statement forthcoming in the coming week.

Martha Karua has unequivocally rejected the report released on November 25 by the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO), chaired by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.

In her X account, Karua expressed her dissatisfaction with the NADCO report, describing it as troubling, problematic, and unacceptable. She hinted at a more detailed statement to be released in the coming week.

Earlier, Karua had made it clear that she would reject the report if it failed to address the issue of the high cost of living. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of the report addressing concerns related to electoral justice and the interference with the independence of political parties.

“Any purported agreement that does not immediately impact on the cost of living, electoral justice and respect for multiparty democracy is a fraud on the people and must be rejected,” she stated.

On Wednesday, Azimio leader Raila Odinga said the report was “imperfect and unfinished”, but ” a good start”.

He raised concerns about the report, noting its failure to put forth concrete measures to alleviate the high cost of living.

The committee suggested extending the timelines for the Supreme Court to hear and decide on a petition challenging the validity of a presidential election from 14 to 21 days.
