Today marks 100 days since president William ruto came into power. During his campaigns, he made several promises to Kenyans about what he would achieve in his first 100 days in office.

Hustler fund, president ruto promised to establish a funding scheme that will enable small businesses to access loans at very low-interest rates. The president launched the hustler funds on the 20th of November. The fund attracted over 12 million borrowers in the first week of its launch. one can access the hustler funds through a USSD code *254# and mobile application platforms provided by any existing mobile network operators.

He promised to lower the cost of living and make life affordable. This act is yet to happen. On the contrary, the cost of living has skyrocketed, with essential goods costing almost if not twice as much as they used to before. Michael Wafula, a 35-year-old mechanic, told AFP that They inflated the prices of goods, then gave him a 500-shilling loan which can only buy two packets of maize flour

During his campaign ruto promises to return port operations to Mombasa. The former president Uhuru Kenyatta had moved port operations to Naivasha. This move got a lot of resistance from the coastal region residents. Uhuru did this to ensure that Kenya could repay the loan for the SGR in time.

When he took office, ruto ordered the return of port operations to the coast.in his speech, ruto said that he would be issuing instructions for clearance of all goods and other attendant operational issues to revert to the port of Mombasa. This order restores thousands of jobs in the city of Mombasa

He promised to act on corruption, a vice that had crippled the previous government. When he took office, ruto said that the previous administration left the treasury broke. He has ordered an audit of government departments.
