Police officers in the Ngunya sub-location in the Ugunja sub-county have arrested five people and recovered more than 30 liters of illicit brew chang'aa

The operation, which was carried out by police officers from the Ugunja police station on Monday at 6 p.m., resulted in the arrest of Lilian Akinyi, 32, when she was discovered in possession of 10 liters of change.

During the operation headed by Corporal Kemboi, 55-year-old Beatrice Aoko Oketch was detained after being found in possession of 20 liters of chang'aa

Others arrested included Lavender Adhiambo (36), Rose Achieng (45), and Mary Ochieng (24), who were all caught with one litre of chang'aa.

Cleti Kimaiyo, Siaya County Police Commander, confirmed the arrests, saying the five had been arrested and were in prison awaiting their court appearance on Tuesday.
