As per the Kenya Meteorological Department, a crucial seven-day warning of heavy rainfall is now in effect for most of Kenya, commencing this Tuesday. This forecast is vital for your safety and preparedness. 

The Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the Rift Valley, the Southeast lowlands, the Coast, the Northeast, and the Northwest are all predicted to see significant rainfall between April 2 and April 8. 

The Meteorological Department advised Kenyans to prepare for possible flooding in the area.

Meanwhile, Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Kwale counties are predicted to experience high temperatures. 

Over the next seven days, the high average daytime temperatures will be higher than 30°C. 


The forecast stated that nighttime highs would likely continue to exceed 25°C, especially along Kenya's coast and in the northeast.

The long rainy season has arrived in most of Kenya; it typically starts mid-March and lasts until May.
