Over 228 people have been killed, and thousands of others have been displaced by the ongoing heavy rains and flooding nationwide.
The severe rains that have caused extensive floods and landslides across the country in recent weeks are expected to intensify in May.
According to a ministry statement, more flooding is "expected in low-lying areas, riparian areas, and urban areas, while landslides/mudslides may occur in areas with steep slopes, escarpments, and ravines."
Floods have devastated homes, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure throughout East Africa's greatest economy.
The devastating weather has killed at least 164 people and displaced 212,630, according to the government.
