Two women have died after being electrocuted while washing clothes at their rental home in Homa Bay County.
The two women, Roseline Akinyi Opiyo, 29, and Judith Achieng Ochiel, 28, died after touching a live electric wire.
According to witnesses, the landlord is to blame for his unlawful electricity connections.

Alphonse Odero, the assistant head of the Karading sub-location, said that the lady woke up on Monday to wash clothing and put it on one of the clotheslines, which was in contact with a live electric wire.
Roseline was electrocuted after touching the metal as the women were hanging their damp clothing on the line.
Without realizing what had occurred, Judith Achieng ran to assist her companion, who was still hanging on to the wire and was electrocuted to death on the spot.
Hassan Barua, the Homa Bay County Police Commander, verified the occurrence.
He stated that early inquiries showed the landlord's unlawful ties. He stated that additional inquiries into the event are continuing.
