The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has officially announced the timetable for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), an essential component of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

This assessment marks the culmination of Grade 6 education for students nationwide.

As part of Kenya's educational reform, KPSEA focuses on skill development and practical knowledge rather than traditional exam methods. This assessment evaluates learners' competencies at the end of their primary schooling, effectively replacing the previous Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) system.

KPSEA assesses student performance across various subjects and provides vital feedback that helps educators pinpoint areas needing improvement, fostering a comprehensive skill set among students.

For the 2024 academic year, the KPSEA exams will commence with a rehearsal on Friday, October 25, 2024. The main examination period is scheduled from Monday, October 28, to Wednesday, October 30, 2024. On the first day, candidates will take Mathematics and English papers.

The following day will include Kiswahili, Integrated Science, and Sign Language tests, while the assessment will conclude on Wednesday with Creative Arts and Social Studies papers.

KNEC has outlined clear instructions for candidates, emphasizing that the time allotted for each paper is strictly enforced and that no additional time will be granted. Candidates are reminded not to exit the examination room before the allotted time except with specific permission from the supervisor.

KNEC stresses the importance of academic integrity and warns against any form of cheating or assistance. Any irregularities detected in an assessment paper will result in the cancellation of the entire subject's results.
