Yunyan pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on Kes500,000 cash bail or an alternative Kes1 million bond by Senior Principal Magistrate Manuela Kinyanjui in Kiambu court.

Prior to trial, the accused was required by the magistrate to surrender her passport and other travel documents to the court.
