President William Ruto has come to Njabini for the burial of Field Marshall Mukami Kimathi.
The President arrived at approximately 10.30 a.m.
Deputy President Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and other high-ranking government officials accompanied him.
Ruto praised Mukami as a strong woman who bravely faced colonial oppression and proudly displayed the scars of the war.

"She bore the dreadful losses of war with remarkable fortitude," he stated.
The President praised her as a persistent patriot and well-known promoter of national unity who encouraged countless Kenyans of all ages to love their country and be prepared to defend its principles.
"After winning the independence war, Mama Mukami was left to fight and win the battle to provide for her kids in the absence of Field Marshall Kimathi." "She won this war in her typical fashion," the President said.
"I beseech the Almighty God to grant you divine comfort in this grief." We will remember her and cherish her legacy. May God grant her soul eternal peace."
Mukami is the wife of liberation activist Dedan Kimathi.
She died at 96 while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital for lung problems.
Mukami died on the night of Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Mukami's remains were publicly viewed at Lee Funeral Home before being transported to Njambini for burial.
