Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja was reprimanded by Radio King Maina Kageni for sobbing in public. Although it is not inappropriate for a man to cry, Maina advises not doing so in front of others.

On Wednesday, Maina weighed in during the Morning Conversation on Classic 105.

"As an African man, you cannot cry in front of people. African guys have gotten so frail and helpless. Who is the leader when both your wife and you start crying? An African man should keep his emotions in check and reserve verbal expression for the bathroom or the bedroom. Even though he sobbed a lot, you never saw your father.

Additional Adding

"You're expected to be a strong example for people around you. The idea of African guys crying in public is just so awful. Kenyan males are exceptionally strong, much like Russian men. You are not allowed to sob in public. It was really powerful.

Sakaja's emotive side was on display as he discussed the show titled "Dishi na County."

The two had been there at Roysambu Primary School in Nairobi for the beginning of the Nairobi School Feeding Program.

Sakaja appeared to struggle to find the correct words to say as he wiped tears from his eyes and muttered, "Your excellency, I'm sorry."

He finally collected himself and said, "Your excellency, ni uchungu ya hawa watoto."

The President assured the governor that he would make every effort in his ability to eradicate hunger in the nation.

"I want to express my sympathy to my friend Arthur Sakaja Johnson. I share your feelings, Ruto added.

We must end the humiliation of hunger in our nation, as I mentioned during the campaigns. And we need to be thoughtful, intentional and have a plan before we start.

The President went on to declare that the administration has plans for growing food to reduce hunger and that increasing food production is the answer to the problem.

Ruto promised that the government would improve the school meal program in light of this.

In the fiscal year 2023–2024, schoolchildren in Nairobi's public schools and ECDEs would use Sh5 to receive free lunches under Sakaja's initiative.

To operate the Dishina County School Feeding Program, the governor has allotted Sh1.2 billion every year.

On Monday, the first concrete was broken for the construction of central kitchens in ten sub-counties.

The work is anticipated to be completed in about ten weeks, and the first dinner will likely be served on the opening day of the third term of this academic year.

Embakasi Central, Embakasi South, Kasarani, Kibra, Makadara, Starehe, Roysamu, Ruaraka, and Westlands sub-counties are among the sub-counties.
