After a couple was discovered having sex at the altar on Tuesday, a group of believers in Uganda pledged never to step inside a church in the Kayunga District of the country.

A 23-year-old married Catholic guy and his recently divorced Muslim lover were allegedly spotted in bed by the man's wife, who then alerted the neighbourhood.

"The two were detained as locals expressed their outrage. The man's T-shirt and the woman's headpiece are held in the Local Council's (LC) residence as exhibits, according to George William Kanda, the chairman of Bugonya LC1.

The doors to the church were closed, so they entered through the windows.

According to Kanda, angry locals frogmarched the criminals to his office after the incident, but he later released them after bringing a promiscuity case against them.

The individual had fled by Thursday, and it is still unknown where he is right now.

A case doesn't go rancid. Kanda said that he would have to account for his sin whenever he returned.

The Bugonya Church of Uganda's adherents now request that church authorities arrange a cleansing ceremony to purify the property.

Following the occurrence, which they described as appalling and wicked, church authorities subsequently ordered their followers to fast for an arbitrary number of days.
